1. Minimum age
Lyf OS is not directed at, and is not intended for use by, anyone under 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, if higher — 16 in some EEA member states). Creating and using an account is subject to meeting that minimum age.
2. No knowing collection from children
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the applicable minimum age. If we learn that we have collected data from a child without required parental consent, we will delete it promptly.
3. How we handle age
We want to be straightforward about this rather than imply a protection we do not provide:
- We do not currently ask for a date of birth or operate a verified age-gate at sign-up. Sign-up collects an email address and, optionally, a password.
- This means we rely on the minimum age stated above and on reports from parents, guardians, and others.
- If we become aware that an account belongs to someone under the applicable minimum age, we close it and delete the associated data.
- If we introduce age screening in future, this page will be updated to describe it.
4. Parents & guardians
If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact
[email protected] and we will investigate and delete the account and data as appropriate. You can ask us to:
- Confirm whether we hold any personal information about your child.
- Provide a copy of that information.
- Delete the account and its data.
- Stop any further collection or use of their information.
5. Safety, security & reporting a concern
Lyf OS is a private, single-user app. There is no public profile, no messaging between users, no friend list, and no user-to-user content of any kind, so there is no way for one person using Lyf OS to contact or see another.
- Security — accounts are protected by password or single-use sign-in link, traffic is encrypted in transit over HTTPS, and access to production data is limited to those who need it. No system can be guaranteed completely secure.
- No behavioural advertising — we do not serve targeted or behavioural advertising to anyone, and we do not sell personal data.
- Reporting — to report a child-safety or privacy concern, email [email protected]. We aim to acknowledge reports within a few working days.
6. Changes to this policy
If we make a material change to how this policy works — in particular, if Lyf OS ever begins collecting information from children — we will update this page and change the "last updated" date above before the change takes effect.
7. Compliance
- Alignment — this policy is intended to align with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and with the minimum-age provisions of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which set the age of digital consent between 13 and 16 depending on the member state.
- No parental-consent mechanism — because Lyf OS is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect their data, we do not operate one. If that changes, this page will be updated before any such collection begins.
- Questions — anything about this policy can be sent to [email protected].
